Dermal Fillers

Typically, most patients who receive dermal fillers will experience minimal discomfort. Our practitioners will provide numbing cream or local anesthetics to ensure a comfortable experience upon request.

The number of appointments needed depends on the treatment area and type of filler used; however, most people typically achieve their desired results within one session. In some cases, you may need additional maintenance treatments every 6-18 months.

Results are typically visible immediately after treatment. However, as the filler fully settles and the swelling subsides, you may need to wait about 1-2 weeks for the final results.

Dermal fillers can be combined with our other treatments, such as BOTOX®, laser resurfacing, and IPL photofacial, for a more cohesive and personalized treatment plan. In most cases, these treatments can be completed in one sitting at our Miami cosmetic center.

Receiving dermal fillers is generally very safe. However, some potential risks of this treatment include swelling or bruising, redness or tenderness at the injection site, and, in rare cases, infections or lumps. Treatment from highly skilled professionals significantly decreases these risks.

Right after your treatment, there will be some mild swelling, redness, or tenderness. Bruising is also possible, especially in more delicate areas like the lips.

Most JUVÉDERM® fillers last between 6 months to 2 years. Lip fillers may wear off more quickly, while cheek or jawline filler tends to last longer due to lower mobility in those regions.

No. Dermal fillers are not permanent. They are designed to gradually metabolize over time. This gives patients flexibility and peace of mind knowing their results can evolve or be adjusted as needed.

Yes. If you’re unhappy with your results or experience a complication, hyaluronic acid-based fillers like JUVÉDERM® can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This offers an added layer of safety and control.

Yes, in many cases. Fillers can be used to smooth the tear trough area and camouflage under-eye hollows or mild bags. However, results depend on anatomy. For severe under-eye puffiness, surgery may be a better solution.

Fillers can help improve early signs of jowling by lifting and contouring the jawline. In more advanced cases, a surgical facelift may be necessary for optimal results.

Before:

• Avoid alcohol, aspirin, NSAIDs, and supplements like fish oil for 3–5 days
• Stay well hydrated

After:

• Don’t exercise for 24 hours
• Avoid heat, saunas, or facials for a few days
• Sleep with your head elevated
• Don’t touch or massage the area unless instructed
